Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
We go into a trance like state while watching TV, watching a film, reading a book and listening to music. We naturally enter a state of hypnosis, just before falling asleep and waking up. When you are hypnotised, it allows your conscious mind to take a rest and your unconscious mind come forward. Entering a hypnotic state allows you to tap into your subconscious mind, where changes are made more easily. Hypnosis can help you be the best you want to be. Hypnosis is not a cure; however, it is more like a process that can be incredibly life changing. It can help you to have more positive thoughts and behaviours that can help you live a more fulfilled work and personal life. It works by overwriting old patterns and behaviours. Depending on the aspect of your life that you want to change, Alison will create an individual programme to meet your needs, based on you as an individual. This is the reason for offering an initial 30-minute free consultation, as well as giving you the opportunity to ask any questions and meet Alison; she offers a non-judgemental, safe and confidential service.
Hypnosis is an amazing tool that has been around for hundreds of years , so it is not a new method for self-improvement.
Alison works with the ethics and guidelines laid out by the Hypnotherapy Standards Council.
Will I be out of control?
The truth is no one can control you mind or your imagination. In hypnosis if you hear a suggestion that you do not like, your unconscious mind will automatically reject it.
Will my values, morals and ethics be in place when I am hypnotised?
Yes, you will always have your values, morals and ethics in place when you are hypnotised.
When hypnotised, will I lose all sense of my surroundings, and will I have any
memory of the session?
Hypnosis is not an unconscious state of sleep. In fact, most people report having a heightened sense of awareness, concentration and focus.
How long will the therapy take?
There is no exact time frame for therapy. Alison will talk with you about this when you meet. Some issues can take as little as a few sessions like smoking cessation and others can take a bit longer. Our minds are incredible and sometimes it takes a little time for change to happen. If you have spent many years struggling with something in your work or personal life, it may take a little time to get used to a different way of thinking and feeling. Just as it takes time to develop a habit it takes
time to change it.
Is hypnosis mind control or brainwashing? Is it dangerous?
No, it is not mind control or brainwashing and you are perfectly safe during hypnosis and many people say that it is an enjoyable experience.
Will I give away my secrets in hypnosis?
No, hypnosis cannot force you to ‘tell the truth’, or to tell someone something about your that you would not want to share.
What is the difference between stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy?
Stage hypnosis is for entertainment. Hypnotherapy is different, as uses hypnosis to help people improve their lives for the better.
